A local greenhouse construction company has been fined $65,000 after a worker fell and suffered serious injuries.
South Essex Fabricating pleaded guilty after a Ministry of Labour investigation.
Three years ago, the worker was fastening hangers to the underside of roof trusses on County Road 31, near Leamington.
He was using a hydraulic scissor lift, and was trying to move it while fully extended.
The lift tipped over, and the man fell nearly four metres.
The lift was missing several safety devices.
