Slippery conditions and snow-covered roads caused some motorists to slide into ditches Thursday morning in Essex County.

Essex County OPP did not have an exact number of accidents Thursday morning due to open files, but said there were several on Highway 3 near County Road 8.

Police did not report any injuries. Roads remained opened throughout the morning commute.

Essex County OPP spokesperson Const. Stephanie Moniz urged drivers to simply slow down when road conditions become treacherous.

Moniz said it was a "strange" morning because Manning Road, near the OPP detachment, "was clear as a bell," but certain roads in Essex were snow-covered and slick.

Scattered flurries are expected in Windsor-Essex into Thursday night with a high of -3 C and a low of -7 C.
