Canada's weather authority has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia and Lambton.

Environment Canada is warning the region will see strong wind gusts between 90 to 100 km/hr.

Severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday afternoon.

Hail and heavy rain is possible, and Environment Canada warns so are tornados.

Strong winds can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and even overturn large vehicles, the weather authority said.

People are reminded that lightning kills and injures many Canadians each year, and that if you hear thunder you should go indoors immediately.
