The rickshaw is returning to downtown Windsor streets.
Rickshaws used to be on Windsor's downtown streets in the past, when the economy was at its best and tourists were visiting the city.
When all that declined so did the rickshaw business.
A university student from Uganda believes it's time to revive the operation.
Julius Wamala has bought Riverside Rickshaws.
His goal is to have at least three of them on the streets sometime after Canada Day.
"The cost is $1 but you can negotiate," Wamala said. "It will bring life to the downtown of Windsor. It employs people."
The licensing commission has approved Wamala's application.
All he needs now are workers with some kind of muscle in their legs.
