Another Spitfire airplane will be added to the skyline of Windsor-Essex.

Monday night, Essex town council agreed to have a replica placed on a pedestal near the grain silos downtown.

Bob Swaddling is part of the committee working on the project.

"The meeting was very successful on our sake, and they are all supportive of it," he said. "We have a definite place to put it. We are excited about it. Everything went very well."

The group still needs to raise money to pay for the replica, which is nearing completion in England.

The Second World War replica fighter plane will be similar to the one in Windsor's Jackson Park.

The one in Essex will honour local Air Force veterans, including Jerry Billing, who flew on D-Day.
