The RCMP has charged two Windsor men with possession of contraband cigarettes.
An ongoing investigation by the RCMP resulted in the seizure of 330 cartons of the illegal smokes and a 2002 Dodge Caravan on Aug. 15.
The men were apprehended on Highway 401 near Walker Road.
The cigarettes were found hidden under a blanket in the back of the van.
A 50 year-old and 47 year-old male - both from Windsor - have been charged with unlawful possession and receiving for sale unstamped tobacco products.
A crime the RCMP's Serge Cote said is a smaller part of a bigger problem.
"The sale of illegal tobacco products benefits criminal organizations who often use their profits to finance other criminal activities," said Cote. "The RCMP is committed to targeting this type of crime, and working with other law enforcement partners to ensure we enjoy safe homes and safe communities."
The accused are scheduled to appear in court on Sept, 23.
