Racehorses drugged, Ontario police say
Ontario Provincial Police have charged three Windsor-area residents with administering non-therapeutic performance-enhancing substances to racehorses.
Investigators seized medications and documents, as well as property including business vehicles and horse trailers, at a Windsor residence and a Tecumseh, Ont., stable on Saturday.
Few details have been released. The investigation is continuing.
Christopher Haskell, 33, and Cassie Nantais, 24, both of Windsor, and Derek Riesberry, 40, of Tecumseh, are to appear in Windsor court on Jan. 5. They are charged with fraud and offences under the gaming and betting sections of the Criminal Code.
