OPP seek suspect in 3-month old robbery
An 80-year-old Shoppers Drug Mart employee was hit over the head and forced to the ground nearly three months ago after trying to deposit cash at a bank in Tecumseh, according to the OPP.
The man in question got away with a cash deposit bag with over $7,500 on Aug. 30 at about 2:20 p.m.
The male store employee was taken to hospital and later released with stitches, according to OPP Const. Stephanie Moniz.
"We're just hoping even as grainy as the clip is, it may [trigger] something in someone's mind," said Moniz.
Moniz said details haven't been released to the public until now because the OPP had difficulty obtaining the surveillance footage. She also said enhancing the grainy video footage took a little while.
The OPP is asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in his late-30s, 160 lbs with a thick full beard, which may have been a disguise.
At the time of the incident he was spotted wearing a skull cap, red t-shirt, sunglasses and shorts.
Police said he left in a black small compact vehicle, which was caught on a surveillance camera.
