The former Grace Hospital property in Windsor has a potential buyer.
Mortgagee Tony Battaglia said he won't reveal who's interested until the deal closes at the end of the week.
"I can tell you that it's one of the groups I was working with for several months and i'm pleased it happened and the deal will close. I believe we'll begin to see the site remediated very soon after closing," said Battaglia.
Battaglia had the opportunity to make a deal with a potential buyer as long as that purchaser pays the back taxes and he said under the sale agreement the city would be paid.
The former Grace Hospital was slated for a long-term health care facility, but the original owner, Lou Vozza, failed to meet deadlines and the province pulled the contract.
The city put the property up for sale after Battaglia's company failed to pay the $1.2 million in back taxes.
