An Essex town councillor wants council to pass a "no-shooting" bylaw that would affect a small, rural residential area known as Pleasant Valley in Essex County.

Coun. Bill Baker said he's been hearing from people concerned about hunters firing guns too close to their homes.

Baker said there is "cluster" of homes affected.

"What we're looking at is for administration to come back with a report that says, 'How do we better enforce this bylaw? How do we, maybe, look at language that would strengthen it up?'" Baker said. "Should this area be under consideration for an additional restricted area?"

Pleasant Valley is east of Harrow, on Roads 3 and 4, between McCormick Road and the Arner Townline.
