Windsor city council has put off making a decision on whether to buy four fire trucks.
The fire department believes it's time to replace its aerial platform vehicles. But only one company submitted a bid for the purchase and the cost is $4.3 million.
That cost concerns Mayor Eddie Francis.
"In these type of cases, when you have one respondent to a bid, your sensitivity increases and you want to ensure that there's nothing we have done to basically scare off potential bidders. So I think that level of diligence is appropriate," Francis said.
The fire chief and his staff will do more research about why only one company is interested in the contract.
