The Liberal nomination in the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh is now a two-person race.

One candidate, Enwin vice president Michael Duben, is bowing out. He says he has to deal with a serious medical issue involving a close family member.

"I don't want to be in a position where I can't dedicate myself to an election," he said. "It was a hard decision. We got together with my family; we got together with the nomination team. There's been a lot of support from people on my nomination team saying, 'look, Michael, you have got to do what's right for your family.

"They expect that from me. That's the type of person that I am."

Rose City Islamic Cultural Centre executive director Remy Boulbol and real estate and mortgage broker Jeewne Gill are still; in the race.

Members of the party chose their candidate next June 27.
