Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis claims his one-day job-hunting trip to Germany was productive.
Francis flew overseas earlier this week and spent Wednesday in Germany in an attempt to secure new investment for the area. But the mayor continues to remain mum on many more details.
Francis won't name the company he met with but he said it's not related to solar energy.
If a deal is finalized, the mayor says it will mean new jobs and diversification for the region's economy.
"This most recent trip and these most recent meetings were important, and it's going to allow us to take the next step," Francis said.
Francis says the target date to finalize a deal remains the end of November.
He won't say much more because he says there is the potential that other cities will compete for the same investment.
"Many other cities perhaps are waiting to read our playbook and I've made it a practice of mine not to put our playbook out there," Francis said.
Francis says it's too early to talk about how many jobs could be created if the investment comes through.
