Man charged after pickup truck clocked at 152 km/h
A Dresden man is accused of driving a pickup truck at almost twice the posted speed limit in Chatham-Kent, while intoxicated, on Saturday night.
Police say they received reports of a vehicle driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on Countryview Line, just after 9 p.m.
An officer soon located the suspect vehicle, which police allege was found to be travelling at 152 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
When the vehicle was pulled over, the officer determined that the driver was "exhibiting signs that he consumed an alcohol beverage."
The driver then failed a roadside test and was taken to police headquarters for additional "breath tests."
Police say the 51-year-old male driver has been charged with stunt driving and with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol limit above 0.08.
