Lasalle town hall ready by beginning of June
After a construction delay of half a year, the new building will be ready by summer
The move-in date is set for the new town hall in LaSalle.
The company constructing the facility will turn the keys over to the town on June 1.
That's when IT services, phones and furniture will be installed.
Currently, city services are being run out of Windsor Crossing outlet mall.
LaSalle mayor Ken Antaya expects the new town hall to be fully operational by mid-July.
"The council is very relieved we at least have a date now," he said. "We didn't want this dragging into the fall."
Construction was originally expected to be finished in January, but was delayed.
"Maybe it could have been scheduled better," Antaya said, citing that there were delays first on the construction of the fire hall and police station that pushed the construction of the town hall back.
The contractor is paying the rent for the town's extended stay at Windsor Crossing.
