A woman killed in Kingsville last week died from a gunshot wound, police said Friday night.

Bridie Fanning's body was found Tuesday night in her home. Abraham Froese-Friessen, 51, was charged with first-degree murder.

The Ontario Provincial Police are releasing few details about the alleged murder.

The two lived in separate apartments in the same house on County Road 34, and a neighbour said they knew each other.

Fanning was an artist whose work was recently on display at the Leamington Arts Centre.

Froese-Friessen, who is being held in police custody, was in court on Friday. He is expected to appear in court Feb. 18 via video link.
