Funnel cloud spotted over Wheatley

People in Wheatley reported seeing a funnel cloud Wednesday on the shore of Lake Erie.

Emily Wiebe photographed and filmed what she said is a funnel cloud at 1:58 p.m.

Environment Canada did issue a weather statement at 2:42 p.m. Wednesday.

"Conditions will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today for some regions near the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario," the agency said on its website. "Funnel clouds have been reported near Wheatley and Leamington, near the western shoreline of Lake Erie."

Environment Canada wasn't immediately available for comment.
