Fort Malden National Historic Site to host Windsor's first Escape Room Festival
Festival runs this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
One of Canada's national historic sites is getting in on the escape room craze.
Amherstburg's Fort Malden National Historic Site will be hosting Windsor-Essex County's first Escape Room Festival this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival will include four escape rooms from Fort Malden and four others facilitated by other escape room businesses in Windsor — Hidden Trail Escape Room, Breakout Kingsville, Exodus Windsor Escape Rooms and Hidden Trail Escape Room.
"Most of the clues are certainly related to the site's history to an extent ... Any way that we can use our national parks to get people to come and appreciate and enjoy them," Alex Dare of Parks Canada said.
The festival will also include food trucks, craft beer and live music.
Escape rooms are a physical and mental adventure game in which players must solve a time-limited series of challenging puzzles and riddles to be able to leave the room.
The cost is $34.30 per person for five escape room experiences. Teams of two to six are asked to register together by phone.
