Production at Ford's engine plants in Windsor is expected to return to normal Thursday.

A parts shortage had sent workers home for the day Wednesday.

Chris Taylor, president of the Unifor Local 200, representing Ford employees, says the snow affected the arrival of "just-in-time" parts from the United States.

"It's coming in dribs and drabs. We're hopefully going to be out of this situation by the end of the week, but I'm glad that it's weather-related, and not something else, but it really does show the vulnerability of on-time delivery," Taylor said.

Ford employs 1,500 people at the Windsor and Essex Engine Plants.
