A string of strong thunderstorms could cause flooding in low-lying areas across Windsor-Essex, according to the regional conservation authority.

ERCA issued a flood watch Friday afternoon, citing the possibility of downpours that could drop 25 to 50 mm of precipitation and wind gusting between 60 and 80 km/h.

Residents were warned to be cautious around waterways and to keep pets, children and livestock away from shorelines.
