A deadly crash shut down a portion of a regional highway near Wallaceburg for hours on Saturday.
The Ontario Provincial Police report that a southbound Ford Mustang struck a guard rail on Highway 40, near Dufferin Avenue, and came to rest in a field. Police were called to the scene just before 5 a.m.
The car had a driver and two passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver and one passenger were taken to hospital, where the latter was pronounced dead.
The second passenger was not injured.
The highway was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash.
