CBC Windsor made its rounds Thursday, collecting donations for its Sounds of the Season food drive.

Using a bus donated by Transit Windsor, CBC staff and volunteers from the Unemployed Help Centre picked up donations from community partners.

Staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, Hotel Dieu Grace Health Care and Windsor Islamic Association at the Annoor Islamic School, combined to donate nearly 2,000 pounds of food Thursday.

So far, the community has given 6,100 pounds of food to the cause.

On Friday, the Windsor Police Service, University of Windsor Odette Commerce Society, Essex Windsor EMS, Caesars Windsor and Windsor-Essex County Canoe Club among others will donate during CBC Windsor's open house.

CBC's audience is invited to come to the station and watch Windsor Morning, the Bridge and Windsor at 5:30 go to air.

People are asked to donate non-perishable food items if they attend.
