There is something new on CBC Radio in Windsor.

Windsor Morning launched on 97.5 FM Monday morning, replacing The Early Shift.

The show's new theme song was written and performed by local band The Walkervilles.

"I remember you guys saying that you wanted to sound like the area but not, you know, like Motown. You wanted it to sound like Windsor, uniquely Windsor and we thought ... this is the right right blend," said Pat Robitaille, lead singer of The Walkervilles.

An enthusiastic crowd of early risers and dedicated listeners attended the live broadcast at the CBC Windsor to celebrate.

Listeners were also treated to free samples of Windsor Morning coffee, supplied by Colonial Coffee.

Tony Doucette remains the host of the morning show that airs 6 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.
