Windsor Police are looking for a suspect following an assault on a taxi driver early Thursday morning.

Police say it happened just after midnight.

The cab driver told officers he picked up a fare in the 700 block of Victoria Ave.

When the driver asked for payment at the corner of Park Street and Caron Avenue, the man allegedly pulled out two kitchen knives and told the driver it was a robbery.

The suspect then fled on foot with a small amount of cash.

Police later recovered a backpack and the knives.

He's white, about 25 years old, with short brown hair.

He was wearing jeans, dirty sneakers and a green construction vest with a reflective silver 'X' on the back.

On the weekend, another cab driver was stomped on downtown.

Two men face assault charges from that incident.
