An attempted murder charge has now been laid in Windsor's weekend stabbing.

The 48-year-old man was arrested after a 37-year-old woman suffered several stab wounds.

It happened Saturday night on Campbell Avenue.

A witness told officers the suspect was fleeing the area on a bicycle.

Police arrested a man soon after.

They say the victim was visiting a friend's house and became involved in an argument with a neighbour.

Police say was pushed off the porch on to the sidewalk and then stabbed six times in the abdomen, hip and back.

The wounds are considered serious, but not life-threatening.
