Arson was the cause of the Wickes Bumper fire
An investigation by Ontario's Fire Marshal's office, and Windsor Fire and Rescue, has found that the blaze at the former Wickes Bumper Manufacturing was deliberately set.
The industrial fire did $1 million in damage, according to the Windsor fire department.
Windsor Fire and Rescue chief fire prevention officer Lee Tome announced the damage estimate Friday afternoon, and then tweeted later in the afternoon that an investigation revealed the fire was deliberately set.
Heavy equipment was brought in Friday to clear a safe area for investigators to search for clues as to what caused the fire.
