Adventure Bay to close temporarily for slippery floor fix
Customers complain about slippery floors at family water park
Adventure Bay Water Park just recently opened and soon it will be closed.
The family water park will be closed Feb. 24 to 28.
The floors will get a new sand-based coating because a few people have been slipping and falling.
There have been a few complaints, according to the city.
Helga Reidel the City's Chief Administrative Officer says no one has been hurt.
"The team has made the decision to shut the facility down for a few days and improve that quality of that floor and then we'll re-open," she said. "We're trying to stay away from Family day and March break, and make sure that we're open at the premium times."
The temporary shutdown is required so that crews can work on the floor.
Don Sadler, project manager for the International Aquatic and Training Centre, told CBC News the floors do meet industry standards.
"We always strive to make the experience as best as we can make it," he said.
