The RCMP say a huge heroin seizure in Fiji this weekend should slow the flow of the drug through Vancouver to the North American market.

More than 300 kilograms of the white powder was seized in the Fijian capital of Suva. That's enough for about six million individual doses.

The big bust was the result of a five-country investigation that included officers from the Vancouver RCMP who travelled to the south Pacific nation.

Along with the heroin, police also arrested two alleged members of an international crime syndicate. Police believe the drug came from Burma, and was being stockpiled in Fiji for shipment to Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
