A retired York Regional Police officer who recently worked with the force on a part-time basis has been charged with sexual assaulting involving a minor.

Police say Donald Clark, 65, faces charges of sexual assault and sexual interference for an alleged assault against a "young female victim" on Oct. 30.

Clark worked with the police force from 1974 to 2006. Since 2007 he has been employed with the force part-time on a retiree contract as a fleet assistant. His employment contract has since been terminated, according to a police news release.
