Woman in hospital after collision with TTC streetcar
Incident occurred on Dundas St. W. shortly after midnight
A woman is in hospital after her vehicle collided with a TTC streetcar early Thursday.
The woman apparently lost control of her car and smashed into the streetcar on Dundas Street West shortly after midnight.
There are reports she suffered serious facial injuries in the incident and was taken to St. Michael's Hospital to be treated.
No one on the streetcar was injured, police said.
The collision was one of many around the Toronto area overnight as wet roads began to freeze, causing black ice and slippery conditions.
Dundas Street West was closed between Sorauren and Lansdowne avenues for several hours while police investigated. It has since reopened to traffic.
There is no word on any charges.
