One woman has died in a fatal crash northwest of Toronto today in Halton Hills.
Police were called to the scene of the collision on Steeles Avenue, between Fifth and Sixth Line, in Halton Hills, at the Milton border, shortly before 5 p.m.
The collision involved a car and transport truck.
The driver of the car, a 59-year-old woman from Kitchener, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 33-year-old Brampton man, was not injured.
The truck, loaded with fertilizer, drove into a ditch after the colliding with the car and partially knocked down a hydro pole.
Hydro crews were dispatched to the scene.
Police are advising motorists to avoid that area of Steeles Avenue, which is expected to remain closed 11 p.m.
