Woman accused in Kensington hit and run appears in court

An Oshawa woman accused of an alleged hit and run in Kensington Market appeared in a Toronto court today.

An Oshawa woman accused of an alleged hit and run in Kensington Market appeared in a Toronto court today.

Karen Fyfe, 31, of Oshawa, is charged with fail to stop causing bodily harm, in connection with an alleged hit and run that occurred in Kensington Market over the weekend. (Alex Tavshunsky/CBC)

Toronto police say that a 28-year-old man was struck on Dundas Street West, near Augusta Avenue, as he waited to get into a taxi in the early hours of on Saturday morning.

That man, Jay McGinn, remains in critical condition. His family and friends asked for privacy today.

A day after McGinn was struck, police announced an arrest in connection with the collision.

Karen Fyfe, 31, faces a charge of fail to stop causing bodily harm. She appeared in court on Monday morning, but remains in custody.
