The Toronto Black Film Festival takes place this weekend.

Most of you probably already have elaborate plans to spend Valentine's Day with your loves. But there's more than Valentine's Day to celebrate this weekend.

Toronto Black Film Festival

Feb 11 to Feb 16, Carlton Cinema/Al Green Theatre

Besides the films screening at Carlton Cinema, there is also a concert taking place Saturday night featuring the powerful vocals of Lorraine Klaasen. The Juno award winner will be celebrating South Africa in this event proudly co-presented by CBC Radio.

For more information, check out the Toronto Black Film Festival website.

Aneemah's Spot

Feb 14 to Feb 16, 918 Bathurst

Aneemah's Spot is a stylistic mix of stealthy dialogue, rhyme and spoken word. The funeral of "G" brings Aneemah and Wan together to mourn and share their histories, as they are forced to let go of the past and choose how they will navigate life, either apart or together, from this moment on.

For more information, check out the Aneemah's Spot website.

Momo Workshop

Feb 15, West End Food Coop

You will learn about the theory and practice of dumpling making, gain hands-on experience working with steaming equipment, and leave with some fresh community-made momos!

For more information, check out the West End Food Coop website.
