The westbound lanes of the QEW between Guelph Line and Walkers Line in Burlington reopened a little after 6:30 a.m. after multiple collisions on flooded roads brought traffic to a standstill early Tuesday.

The westbound lanes of the QEW were closed near Appleby Line after multiple collisions in the westbound lanes — one involving two jackknifed tractor-trailers — occurred as the area was hit with heavy rains and road flooding.

It appears no one was seriously hurt in the collisions.

Showers and thundershowers arrived in the GTA overnight and are expected to continue through the morning, making for slick road conditions and a slow morning commute.
