Vaughan man charged after fatal hit and run

A 47-year old man has been charged after a pedestrian died following a hit and run collision in Concord Thursday morning.

A 47-year old man has been charged after a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run collision in Concord Thursday morning.

Police say the collision happened just after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Dufferin Hill Drive and Dufferin Street, just south of Rutherford Road.

A 52-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A vehicle fled, but the 47-year-old driver from Vaughan turned himself in to police just before 10 a.m.

The driver has been charged with:

  • Failing to stop
  • Failing to stop, causing bodily harm
  • Failing to stop, causing death
