A St. Catharines, Ont., teenager successfully swam across Lake Ontario today.

Trinity Arsenault, 14, set out from Niagara-on-the-Lake just after 6 p.m. last night.

She reached the other side of her journey a day later, making it all the way to Toronto's Marilyn Bell Park.

Arsenault is hoping to get her name in the record books with her completed swim. She is seeking recognition as the youngest person to make the crossing.

The Niagara Falls Review newspaper reported that Arsenault was 14 years and 70 days old when she entered the water yesterday.
