Toronto police search for escaped suspect

Toronto police are asking the public for help finding a suspect who escaped from a Toronto courthouse this morning.

Toronto police are asking the public for help finding a suspect who escaped from a Toronto courthouse this morning.

Police say Steven Gonyea was at the Ontario Court of Justice at 444 Yonge Street on Thursday to face charges of criminal harassment and breaking-and-entering, when he escaped from custody. 

Police say Gonyea managed to escape from the cell area of the courthouse sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Anyone with information is is asked to contact police at 52 Division at 416-808-5200 or to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222 TIPS (8477). Information can also be submitted online at www.222tips.com.
