Toronto homicide detectives are investigating two fatal stabbings from Saturday morning.
Police responded shortly after midnight to a report of a fight at the Markham Bar & Grill, on Lawrence Avenue East near Markham Road, in Scarborough.
They found the victim, 28-year-old Masud Khalif, on the ground outside suffering from "an obvious injury." He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are looking to see whether surveillance cameras at the bar captured the fight.
Later, at about 4 a.m., officers from 55 Division responded to a report of a loud fight at a residence at 219 Broadview Ave, near Dundas Street East. They found a man — between 25 and 30, who has not yet been identified — dead on the scene.
Investigators say they don't believe the man lived in the building and, at this point, aren't giving out any details about a suspect.
“We’re looking for any information from anybody in the community who knows this person may be or why they may be here,” said Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson.
The deaths mark the city’s 12th and 13th homicides of the year.
