Toronto police probe overnight Etobicoke break-ins
Similar suspect description in 2 incidents, police say
Toronto police are investigating a spate of overnight break-ins in Etobicoke and say they have a similar suspect description for two of the seven incidents.
A school, a business and five homes in the area near Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue were hit between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Police are looking for a six-foot-two-inch man, described as neither black nor white and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, in connection with the break-ins at the school school and one home.
Aileen Smith has lived in the area for nearly six decades. Two of the homes on her block were broken into.
"I don't expect that kind of thing to happen in this neighbourhood," she told CBC News in an interview on Sunday.
A forensics team searched for clues Sunday morning, but police have not yet said whether any of the break-ins are related.
