A man was rushed to hospital after a shooting in Toronto's east end on Wednesday night.

Toronto police said the shooting took place just before 8 p.m. in the Coxwell and Danforth Avenues area.

Several eyewitnesses told CBC News that a a man was walking with a woman and her child when another man approached and opened fire.

Witnesses said the shooter fired three or four shots, then fled the scene.

On Thursday morning, police said the victim in serious but stable condition.
