A group of about a dozen parents lined up overnight outside Howard Park Junior Public School, hoping to get a scarce daycare space.

Bundled up in sleeping bags and lying on top of air mattresses, they're hoping that when the doors open they'll be one the lucky ones and snatch up one of the 10 open spots.

"I got here around 6 p.m., my husband came here for a couple of hours, I went home and had a nap, then I came back about midnight and stayed until 7:30 in the morning," said Nancy Carr.

Parents say the west-end facility is a daycare with a great reputation, affordable and it's provided at the school so kids don't have to move around.
