Toronto man dies almost 2 weeks after stabbing

A 40-year-old Toronto man has died in hospital, almost two weeks after he was found suffering from stab wounds in an east-end apartment.

A 40-year-old Toronto man has died in hospital, almost two weeks after he was found suffering from stab wounds in an east-end apartment.

Matthew Archibald was found in an apartment located at 500 Dawes Rd., on the evening of Jan. 20. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police say he died on Feb. 2.

When Archibald was found, a man was arrested at the scene.

Andrew Jackson, 30, was initially charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

He is due to appear in a Toronto court on Wednesday.
