Toronto police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the city's Riverdale neighbourhood. 

Just after 4 a.m. on Saturday, police received a call about a fight at an address on Broadview Avenue just south of Dundas Street E.

Neighbours told CBC News they heard a loud fight around the time of the stabbing. 

When officers arrived, they a found a man who was showing no vital signs. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified Kareem Francis, 33, as the victim in the city’s thirteenth homicide of the year.

On Sunday morning, police announced in a news release that they had made an arrest in the case.

 A 34-year-old from Toronto faces a second-degree murder charge in the killing.

He was arrested late Saturday and was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday morning.
