Toronto police have closed off part of Yorkville Avenue after a sheet of glass fell from one of the upper storeys of a hotel.

While there were no injuries after the first piece fell around 2:35 p.m., hotel staff are concerned there may be more glass hanging from the building, a police spokesman told CBC News.

The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto sits on the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Bay Street, but police could not confirm that was the building affected.

Yorkville Avenue remained closed between Bay and Yonge streets as of 4:15 p.m. Police could not say when the area would reopen.
