Crash closes section of Yonge Street
Man sustained non-life-threatening injuries
A section of Yonge Street is closed and a man is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after his car crashed into a hydro pole in Vaughan.
The accident occurred shortly before midnight at Yonge Street and Clark Avenue West in Thornhill, according to York Regional Police.
The driver, who was the only person in the car at the time, was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known.
Yonge Street is closed this morning between Clark Avenue and Elgin Street while the pole is replaced. Police say the road will likely be closed for most of the day.
Police are investigating the cause, but say it does not appear to be alcohol-related.
