Teen tells of life with 'Sleeping Beauty' syndrome
A Hamilton teenager suffers from an extremely rare disorder that is causing serious disruption to her life.
Kaitlyn Terrana, 17, is believed to suffer from what is known as Kleine-Levin syndrome, or KLS.
It’s a condition that plunges her into frequent episodes where she will sleep for days at a time and be unable to continue her normal routines.
It has been described as Sleeping Beauty syndrome, but Terrana says it is nothing short of a nightmare.
"They think of a nice little princess lying there," Terrana told CBC News in a recent interview.
"Our mood changes, we act out, we’re nothing like ourselves."
