Two people are in custody following a raid on a suspected meth lab in Pickering, police said Friday.

At 4:30 p.m. ET, members of the Durham Regional Police, along with RCMP, Pickering Fire Services and Health Canada executed a search warrant at a townhouse on Bayley Street.

One man and one woman have been arrested, police said. Both were residents of the home and charges are pending.

The location was stabilized, but proper disposal of the chemicals on scene takes hours, police said. Crews were expected to remain at the home well into the night.

The two suspects are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
