Two streetcars collided Saturday on Queen's Quay, causing both transit and traffic delays on a rainy afternoon downtown.

The accident happened as an eastbound streetcar tried to turn north into a transit loop at 410 Queen's Quay West.

The older model streetcar was turning while one of the city's brand new streetcars was heading west and hadn't quite got clear of the intersection.

No injuries were reported

As a result of the collision, the 510 Spadina and 509 Harbourfront were both holding at Spadina and Queens Quay for a number of hours.

The TTC will have to take the new streetcar off the rails for the time being, TTC spokesperson Sarah Currie told CBC News.
