An east-end water main erupted early Saturday, creating a sort of geyser that sprayed the roof of a three-storey town house complex.

The ruptured underground pipe created a hole in the ground and released water that sprayed several metres into the air at around 6 a.m.

Residents say this has happened three times in the past three years, but this was the worst yet.

City crews were able to shut the water off at the complex on Kingston Road near Lawrence Avenue East

Crews continue to repair the broken pipe.
