Ford's foundation tries to keep lobbyists off mailing list

A Toronto newspaper says Mayor Rob Ford’s private football foundation has again sent correspondence to lobbyists seeking donations, but his office says that if that happened, it was an inadvertent mailing.
The Toronto Star published a report in its Thursday edition quoting two registered lobbyists who say they received fundraising letters from Ford's foundation in the past two months.
Mark Towhey, the mayor's chief of staff, released a statement Thursday, in response to the report.
"It is our understanding that the Football Foundation makes every attempt to remove registered lobbyists from its mass mailing lists," Towhey said in the statement.
"If errors were made, they were inadvertent."
Furthermore, Towhey said that the foundation "will review and look for ways to improve its processes."
Towhey said the foundation does not believe it has received any lobbyist donations, but its policy is "to return such donations if they were to be received in error."
